The Flat Fee Frontier: Rethinking Legal Services in Workers’ Comp in the World of AI explores a groundbreaking shift in how legal services can be delivered — and funded — in the workers’ compensation arena. As AI accelerates efficiency and reshapes traditional workflows, attorneys are rethinking the billable hour and exploring flat-fee and concierge-style legal models that emphasize value, accessibility, and predictable costs. Our expert attorney guests will unpack the legal, ethical, and practical implications of this evolving approach, including how AI-driven tools may enhance client service, streamline case management, and redefine the attorney-client relationship. Attendees will gain insight into both the promise and the pitfalls of this new frontier — and what it could mean for carriers, employers, and claimants seeking legal clarity in an increasingly complex world.

About Ms. Hendrickson:
Gabrielle Hendrickson, a Florida native was born in Jacksonville, FL. Proud graduate of Leesburg High School, and student of Valencia Community College. As with most people, Gabrielle “fell” into Workers’ Compensation claims after working in all levels of property management. But the roots in WC run deep. Previously shadowing her big sister, then adjuster, now defense attorney Gina Jacobs; Gabrielle was first exposed to WC claims in 1993. Gabrielle gleaned from some of the industry greats like Tammy Worthington- Riez & Linda Allen, so it was only a matter of time before she ended up in a claims role of her own.

September 2010 was the beginning of the now 15-year adventure. Holding roles from claims assistant, medical only & lost time adjuster; she has handled claims for the entire southeast. Gabrielle is now Claims Manager at AmTrust North America, overseeing a team handling NC & SC Lost time litigated claims. She holds the CWC & CWCL Designations for Board certification in Florida, and is also Board Certified by the Board of Workers’ Compensation in TN.

Gabrielle is most proud of her daughter Amari, who in keeping with tradition is already famous in her own right within the WC community. Gabrielle is only getting started and looking forward to what the next 15 years holds. Gabrielle continues to hone her skills with hopes to become instrumental in training the next generation of claim adjusters.

Too often, the workers’ compensation process is viewed solely through the lens of data, compliance, and cost. But at the heart of every claim is a person—an injured worker navigating physical pain, emotional strain, and the complexities of a system that can feel overwhelming. This webinar expands on our impactful article series, “The Voice of the Injured Worker,” by exploring the full workers’ comp experience from multiple perspectives. You’ll hear not only from injured workers themselves but also from a nurse case manager and our nonprofit coordinator who works closely with IWs during their transitional assignments. We’ll dive into what it means to feel supported—or forgotten—during each stage of the process: from injury and treatment to claim management, transitional work, and the return to meaningful employment. Attendees will walk away with practical insights to improve outcomes and enhance the human experience across the claims lifecycle.

This webinar will discuss how to create a culture of health and wellness in work comp. Serving in the role of a claims adjuster, nurse case manager, medical provider, service provider, regulator, employer is often filled with stress and complexity. Since an empty cup cannot help fill others, being effective and productive must start with wellness by the experts. After starting with an overview, the panel will then dive deeper into subjects such as mindfulness, nutrition, gut health, science behind things, exercise, tips, etc. The experts that will lead this discussion are: Kristin Green (a certified ACSM trainer and yoga instructor who advocates for the injured employee to be seen, heard and valued) and Nelson Gonzalez (a nationally recognized occupational therapist and executive leader with over 20 years of experience transforming healthcare).
