CBCS Becomes Silver Associate of WorkCompCollege.com

Lakewood Ranch,FL (WorkersCompensation.com) – WorkCompCollege.com has announced a new Silver Associate Partner that will support its ongoing education activities for workers’ compensation professionals. CBCS is an independent Third-Party Claims Administrator, combining industry-leading expertise and customer service to redefine the claims management process. With national workers’ compensation, auto liability, general liability, and cargo claims capabilities, their team of professionals focus on the entire claims management process by delivering client-focused claims solutions, quality-driven service, and a proven return on investment. As part of the partnership, a dozen CBCS employees will go through the program to earn the Workers’ Recovery Professional (WRP) certification.

Julie Bandy, Claims Manager with CBCS has been actively involved with the development of WorkCompCollege.com and its educational systems. She serves on the Board of Trustees and as a Dean for the School of Claims, as well as a faculty member. Mark Pew, the school’s Provost, says. “Julie’s work is representative of how this system came together. Dozens of dedicated professionals have made our WRP Certification a truly community driven effort. The fact that CBCS has supported her in these efforts, and now extends that support within their own organization, speaks very well for their commitment to a better workers’ compensation ecosystem.”

For over a decade, there has been growing recognition of the need for change in the way injuries and illnesses that are the result of an occupational incident are managed. Cocooned in a highly regulated environment and driven by economic pressures, the workers compensation system (in many ways) has evolved into one that is process-driven, where the humanity of the people served is not often given proper consideration. This contributes to expensive litigation and unnecessary delays that cause stakeholder satisfaction to lack, along with situations that are needlessly expensive and often produce inferior results.

WorkCompCollege.com is a community-driven effort designed to address that situation and will help continue the trend towards lower costs and improved results through education, information exchange and mentorship. It’s tagline, “Better Outcomes. Better Communities. Better World.” reflects the company’s belief that improved outcomes benefit all involved, with societal impact well beyond the limited borders of workers’ comp.

With the completion of the core WRP Certification program, the company’s efforts have been directed to the development of an advanced training and education center that will include state-specific modules, an Alumni Association, and special live events.
