Dr. Jurisic completed Medical School at the University of Wisconsin in Madison, and went on to do an Emergency Medicine Residency at Wright State University. After 11 years in a very busy Emergency Department in Milwaukee, Dr. Jurisic began to feel she was endlessly recycling of social problems and not really helping people to improve their well- being. She was then thrilled to discover occupational medicine, where she can make a difference by helping patients renormalize their lives after the disruption of a work injury. She has been with Concentra doing just that since 1991. In addition to being board-certified in Emergency medicine, Dr. Jurisic also became boarded in Occupational Medicine and most recently became a Certified Physician Executive. She is a now VP at Concentra, and serves as the Medical Director for the Strategic Accounts Team. She edited Concentra's Clinician Manual (called Occupational Medicine Redux), as well as contributing 11 of its chapters, and was the primary author of the occupational medicine section of the Concentra Playbook. She serves on Concentra's Clinical Advisory Committee and Chairs the Injury Care Medical Expert Panel. She was involved in developing Concentra's outlier management program, a proactive way of trying to prevent delayed recovery, as well as Concentra's FReSH approach, an innovative alternative to the pain scale.
