Identifying and Addressing Non-Physical Barriers with Work Conditioning and FCE Job Analysis vs. Job Description: Pros, Cons, and Value Add in Work Injury Claims
I have served as a Clinical Consultant with Bardvaon Health Innovations since 2017. My experience in workers' compensation as a clinician began in 1997 while working for an occupational medicine physician. Throughout my clinical career, I saw 100% workers' compensation patients performing Functional Capacity Evaluations, Work Conditioning, Job Analyses, Post-Offer Employment Testing and Ergonomic Assessments. I have also performed peer-review critiques of FCE reports at attorney, adjuster or case manager requests. In addition to my clinical experience, I have authored and co-authored several research studies and publications related to functional testing and performance training of injured workers, public safety professionals and athletes. These publications include The Journal of Hand Therapy, Work: A Journal of Prevention, Assessment and Rehabilitation, Professional Case Management, CLM Magazine (on-line) and others. I have had the fortunate opportunity to serve as a reviewer for Work: A Journal of Prevention, Assessment and Rehabilitation for multiple articles. My teaching experience includes being adjunct or full-time faculty at Millikin University, Benedictine University, The University of Memphis and Rockhurst University. I have also presented for the MSWCA, Illinois Podiatric Medical Association, Missouri Physical Therapy Association, Indiana Workers' Compensation Institute, Great Lakes Athletic Training Association and NSCA state events.
