Dr. Geralyn Datz is a licensed clinical health psychologist and prescribing psychologist. She is the President and CEO of Southern Behavioral Medicine Associates, a group mental health practice, with offices in Louisiana and Mississippi. Dr. Datz provides assessment and treatment of diverse mental health issues including the mental effects of chronic pain and treatment and identification of mental health issues in general. Dr Datz specializes in mental health education, trauma treatment, pain psychology, and forensic assessments. Dr Datz serves as a subject matter expert, expert witness and IME evaluator. Dr. Datz is a sought-after speaker, accomplished writer and scientific presenter. She has authored a number of peer reviewed, scientific articles and book chapters on the topics of mental health treatment, health and pain psychology, the mind-body connection, mitigating opioid risk, treatment of injury, and return to work. Dr. Datz received her PhD in Clinical Psychology at SUNY Stony Brook in Long Island, New York. She completed her residency at the New Orleans VA Medical Center and specialized in Behavioral Medicine. She completed her Post Doctoral Fellowship in Behavioral Medicine at LSU (Louisiana State University), Pennington Biomedical Research Center. She is licensed by the Board of Medicine in Louisiana as a Medical Psychologist. She is also licensed in Alabama and Mississippi.
