WEBINAR: Empathy in Action – Improving Worker’s Compensation Outcomes through Mental Health Advocacy

June 26 @ 1:00 pm 2:00 pm

Sponsored by ReEmployAbility: Join us for an enlightening webinar on the crucial role of advocating for behavioral health in worker’s compensation claims, with a focus on integrating behavioral health into return-to-work (RTW) programs. We will explore the challenges of bringing behavioral health support to injured workers (IW) when states and employers may not fully support it. Learn actionable strategies to educate stakeholders, including Nurse Case Managers, and leverage employer Employee Assistance Programs (EAP) or other networks and resources to support injured worker mental health when treatment is needed. Discover available community resources and the importance of counseling and other interventions as part of behavioral health support. We’ll address common misconceptions, such as believing that providing behavioral health support will ‘create mental health claims’ or that all behavioral support requires a diagnosis that is compensable, and emphasize the importance of proactive communication with injured workers and their families. Together, let’s move beyond talk and take concrete steps toward promoting behavioral health advocacy and proactive care in worker’s compensation claims.
