Episode 7 of Straight Outta Workers’ Comp features Roberta Mike, Field Specialist with Strategic Comp. She has been a work comp adjuster for 44 years, including the last 15 as a field adjuster where she visits with employers, injured workers, and other stakeholders. The conversation is wide-ranging, from what she learned through our WRPA and WRP curriculum (certified in both) to her efforts to help the next generation of claims adjuster come into the industry. She started the Workers’ Compensation Career Mentorship Group in October 2022 which now has close to 2000 members, many of whom are now paying it forward as well. It is the subject of professional development and breaking through interview barriers to gain entrance to the industry where Roberta shared most of her insights and expertise. Her final word of advice was for everyone, especially aspiring new professionals, to focus on being transparent, truthful, and trustworthy.
