Description: In this live podcast from the WCI conference in Orlando on August 18, Mark and Bob were joined by Jim Anderson (Cattie & Gonzalez). Jim shared a preview of his session entitled “Workers’ Compensation at a Crossroads: Challenges and Opportunities for Reform” that included a defense counsel, claimant counsel, and regulator. Jim pitched the idea of finding common areas across jurisdictions and standardizing them, training on empathy, a stronger focus on ability rather than disability, and finding ways to make the system more efficient and cost effective. Catherine Benavidez (IMO) dropped in to talk about her entire team’s accomplishment of completing WRP certification and her perspective on the evolution of case management.
