Synergize: Cultivating Relationships

At ReEmployAbility, we firmly believe that strong connections and collaborative synergy are the keys to achieving exceptional results. This year, we were excited to introduce a groundbreaking project designed to enhance professional development and foster meaningful relationships among our employees.

Introducing the Franklin Covey Platform and Habit 6: Synergy

As a testament to our commitment to our employee’s professional growth, we have granted ReEmployAbility leaders and some employees access to the Franklin Covey platform app, which includes the acclaimed program ‘The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People.’ As we worked through the training program, we focused onHabit 6: Synergy, which emphasizes the power of collaboration and collective effort.

Inspired by this principle, we launched a company-wide initiative, “Synergize: Cultivating Relationships Across ReEmployAbility.”

Enhancing Collaboration Across the Organization

During our April monthly company meeting, we introduced the “Synergize: Cultivating Relationships Across ReEmployAbility” —a dynamic three-week team-building experience designed to strengthen inter-departmental connections and enhance collaboration. This initiative aims to:

  • Foster Empathy and Understanding: Through structured activities, employees were encouraged to interact and gain insights into each other’s roles and perspectives.
  • Encourage Daily Interactions: Teams held daily 10-minute meetings to discuss progress and challenges and share ideas.
  • Facilitate Cross-Departmental Lunches: Weekly group lunches provided a relaxed setting for employees from different departments to connect beyond their job responsibilities.
  • Offer Shadowing Opportunities: Employees observed and learned about various roles within the company, promoting a deeper understanding of our collective efforts.
  • Promote Organic Mentorship: Employees reached out to company leaders for informal lunch meetings to build mentorship relationships.

Aligning with Stephen Covey’s Vision

This initiative aligns seamlessly with Stephen Covey’s 7th Habit, Synergy, which is about achieving more significant outcomes through collaboration than we could individually. As Covey aptly puts it, “1+1 can equal 3!” By bringing our unique strengths and perspectives together, we unlocked new levels of creativity, innovation, and productivity.

The Power of Human Connection

While synergy drives productivity, it’s the power of human connection that truly enhances our work environment. Building strong relationships, fostering trust, and creating a supportive atmosphere are essential for every team member to feel valued and integral to our success.

By prioritizing connection and collaboration, leaders can boost morale and cultivate a workplace where everyone feels a genuine sense of belonging. This positive environment inspires passion and drives our collective success.

Looking Ahead

As we embarked on this exciting initiative, I saw employees across the company collaborate and form relationships. I was most surprised to see that even introverted employees found the program’s benefits and created relationships with co-workers they had not spent time with before.   I heard feedback from employees exclaiming that they now could appreciate the amount of effort and work needed throughout the company for us to succeed. It became clear that by nurturing these connections, we will continue to achieve our goals and drive remarkable results. We are stronger together!
